Summer events

In summer on the Plose there are numerous events that complete the offer of an attractive hiking area. Whether it’s a concert, a marathon, a traditional Cattle Drive or the successful family sunday …. there is definitely something for everyone. And if you just want to experience a relaxing day in the mountains,  from 16th July until 28th August the gondola lift is open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. every weekend and on bank holidays. On 13th August, the gondola lift stays open even until 11 p.m. A perfect chance to enjoy the sunsets in the Dolomites.

HIGHLIGHTS JUNE / JULY 2011

SU, 26.6. Dumpling Sunday. The huts  offer all kinds of dumpling dishes.

SA, 2.7. Green Light for the II edition of the Brixen Dolomite Marathon. Relay change at the bottom and top cable car stations. Target on the Plose

SU, 3.7. ”Jazz on the Plose mountain” of the South Tyrolean Jazz Festival. Begin at 3 p.m., close to the mountain chapel Kreuztal.

SU, 17.7. Family Sunday. Along the hike WoodyWalk and in the huts music, games and fun for young and old. Pony rides on the Rossalm. Entertainment also in Kreuztal. Last ride with the gondola Lift at 7 p.m.

SA, SU, 23.,24.7. Southtyrol Cup. On  Plose the best paragliders from all over the Province will meet for their flying contest. Last ride with the gondola Lift at 7 p.m.

HIGHLIGHTS AUGUST 2011

SU, 7.8. International meeting of wool growers on  Plose. Wool growers from 4 nations meet and spend a day together, walking along WoodyWalk to Rossalm. All friends of the sheep are invited to join the m. Last ride with the gondola lift at 7 p.m

SA, 13.8. The gondola lift stays open until 11 p.m. Enjoy an evening in the mountains. If you are lucky you might even witness some late shooting stars.

SU, MO, 14., 15.8. Crafts and farmer’s market in Kreuztal and at the bottom station of the gondola lift. Last ride with the gondola lift at 7 p.m.

SU, 21.8. Plose Dance. Folk dances for everyone at the Plosehütte CAI, at the Rossalm, at Kreuztal and at Gasthof Geisler. Last ride with the gondola lift at 7 p.m.

SU, 28.8. Cattle drive from the Hinteren Alm to the Rossalm. Last ride with the gondola lift at 7 p.m.

SU, 4.9. Plose Juchiza. A festival in all huts

SU, 11.9. Dumpling Sunday. The huts  offer all kinds of dumpling dishes.

FR, SA, SU, 16. – 18.9. CAI DOM: The most spectacular downhill race in South Tyrol.

THUR, FR, SA, SU, 12.-16. 10. MB Testival at Brixen. The top event for all mountainbikers. The best chance to try out next seasons’ models.  Plose is the outdoor meeting point for tours and tests.
